In a development that is certainly not music to the ears of the people of Jharkhand, the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) has issued a diktat banning modern audio systems at wedding ceremonies in areas under their control.

Threatening violators of the diktat with dire consequences, the rebel group asked local residents to stick to traditional instruments for their music.

The diktat has spread fear amid residents of Lohardaga and Gumla, and there were reports of rebels barging into a couple of wedding ceremonies and torching instruments used for playing Bollywood music.

The fear mounted when several PLFI posters came up in public places, issuing warnings to villagers.

Although the police removed the posters, locals have stopped playing Bollywood music.
