The CBI will file a case to conduct probe into the disappearance of Mahant Shankar Dev, mentor of Baba Ramdev.

Dev disappeared under mysterious circumstances in July 2007 from Haridwar. “The department of personnel & training has cleared the decks for filing of a regular case by the CBI to probe Dev’s disappearance. The CBI will lodge the case and constitute a team of investigators soon,” said a CBI source.

The Uttarakhand government had recommended a CBI probe into the disappearance three months ago, after a local police investigation met a dead end.
