The lady, with her sister, reached the office of MPSWC on Friday to submit her complaint and later spoke to the media persons too. She said since the owner of the store was the one who would have instructed the security personnel in a particular way, the owner could not be absolved of the responsibility. But the police had not registered any case against him.
She further alleged that when she approached the IG of Indore, Anuradha Shankar Singh, the official reportedly said that the police had done what it had to do. When she (mother of victim) insisted that the owner should also be included in FIR, the IG is reported to have asked the complainant whether she was planning to blackmail the owner of the store by such measures.
The official also reportedly told the complainant that the storeowners had big money and that the case would never stand against them.
When contacted, I G Anuradha Shankar Singh told HT through an SMS that she `never used such language’.
The chairperson of the MPSWC Upma Raicon - firmed that she had received complaint from the mother of the victim and that it is being examined before any action was initiated.
