Get ready for a moody weather this week as the Capital is expected to receive rain from late Sunday or Monday.

Till then the temperature will continue to rise slightly and is expected to stay constant during the rain, which according to the weatherman, will last till Wednesday. Once the rain stops, from February 7 onwards, the Met department has warned there will be a fall in the minimum temperature by four-six degrees Celsius, accompanied by heavy fog.

According to a Met department official, light cloud cover will make the temperature rise. "Once it starts raining, it will neither rise nor fall. Post-showers, it will get slightly chilly and heavy fog will be noticed if there is no wind movement. However, the minimum temperature will remain around five to seven degrees, which is not abnormal," he said.

On Saturday, while the morning was a bit cloudy with shallow fog, the rest of the day was clear and sunny with the maximum temperature settling at 24.2 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal for this time of the year. The minimum temperature was also one notch above normal at 9.4 degrees.

While the maximum humidity was 95%, the minimum stayed at 50%. In Gurgaon, the maximum and minimum temperatures were 24.2 and 11.5 degrees Celsius, respectively, while in Noida the mercury clocked between 23.8 and 13.7.

"There will be shallow fog tomorrow, too. In the morning, the sky will be partly cloudy which will become generally cloudy as the day progresses. There might be rain/thundershowers towards the evening or at night," the Met department official said, adding that the maximum and minimum temperature will hover around 23 and 10 degrees Celsius, respectively.
