Police have arrested three members of a gang of vehicle-lifters and recovered three stolen motorcycles and two scooters from their possession. 
Batala SSP Tulsi Ram said that acting on a tip-off, a police team under ASI Chirmal Singh had put up a 'naka' on Sukha Singh Mehtab Singh Chowk and stopped three persons riding a scooter for checking.

The trio, identified as Surinder Singh, Hardev Singh and Malkiat Singh of Batala, could not produce any document of the scooter they were travelling on. During questioning, they confessed that the scooter was stolen from Batala.

On the basis of information provided by the accused, police later recovered the other stolen two-wheelers.
