Django Unchained stays on top at international box office
According to Rentrak, Quentin Tarantino's latest film, Django Unchained, generated $33.64M for the weekend of February 3, thus securing the World Box Office top spot for the third week running. The feature length movie has now earned almost $310M in total.
The Western starring Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz and Leonardo DiCaprio, which has been released in 66 countries, is ahead of Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters. This gory take on the Brothers Grimm tale was in second place with the weekend takings coming to $24.21M.
New movie Warm Bodies is in third place. The romantic Warm Bodies movie earned $20.03M on the North American territory alone, placing it ahead of three Oscar favorites, namely Silver Linings Playbook, Lincoln and Les Misérables.
