The police registered a case of cheating and criminal conspiracy against the owners of Shivam Consultant Placement Services, Manjinder Bawa and Sandeep, here on Tuesday.


The case was registered after several people assembled outside the consultancy's Phase 11 office here and approached a police patrol team, demanding action against its owners for allegedly duping people on the pretext of sending them abroad.

An applicant, Charan Singh, alleged that though 20 persons had paid Rs. 1.30 lakh each for immigrating to another country, the accused had shut down their office.
