Jamuna Model Senior Secondary School principal Lalit Kumar complained to the chairman of PSEB Tejinder Kaur Dhaliwal, vice-chairman Suresh Kumar Tandon and secretary Balwinder Singh by way of an affidavit. Kumar alleged that the Malook Singh had demanded Rs. 50,000 as bribe from them. “In the wake of the allegations, we have placed the superintendent under suspension. We would be inquiring into the allegations and appropriate action would be taken. Corruption will not be tolerated at any cost,” said Dhaliwal, while talking to Hindustan Times.
“The Ludhiana school had applied for restoration of an examination center in the school, which was cancelled by the former chairman about two years back for a period of two years. Now, after the expiry of the penalty period, the school had applied for restoration,” informed Balwinder Singh.
He added, “As per the complaint, Malook Singh had demanded Rs. 50,000 for getting the examination center at the school restored. Malook Singh had even provided the complainant with a bank account number in which the money was told to be deposited.”
