Irked by the prevailing law and order scenario, the Gurgaon Citizens Council (GCC) has called an urgent meeting of its members on Wednesday to discuss the security issue in DLF City.
The recent case of robbery at gunpoint has further spread fear among the residents, who feel a gang of youths are operating in the area and target locked houses.
DLF City resident RS Rathee, who is also GCC president, said, "Incidents of crime have gone up in DLF City and residents feel unsafe. We will take up the issue in the meeting on Wednesday."
BB Sahani, a senior citizen, said, "Earlier, I noticed two youths clicking pictures of houses from the park. When I questioned them, one of them said they were clicking photographs of street lights and fled from the park."
Area residents also complained that security guards did not intercept passers-by using street lanes. The issues gains weight as nearly all cases of theft that took place over the last eight months are yet to be solved.
Commenting on the rise in crime cases, DCP (east) Maheshwar Dayal said, "Residents continue to hire maids and servants without getting their verification done."
