Actor Vivek Oberoi seems to be in a philosophical mood these days. Oberoi, who made a promising debut in Ramgopal Verma’s Company, saw his career sliding down after a first few successful films. And now, though he is getting work, the big hit, that might bring him back into the league of A-listers remains elusive. Asked if he feels bad for his career having not shaped the way he would have liked, Oberoi says, “I am not worried where I stand in the industry, I am very happy today.

I feel in life people forget to be appreciative and thankful. I want to be thankful to everyone for giving me a chance in their films. There are millions of people who are so talented but don’t get a break in the industry.” The actor who essayed memorable performances in films like Saathiya, Masti, Omkara and Shootout at Lokhandwala, has of late delivered a series of flops including films like Mission Istanbul, Prince, Kurbaan, Kismat Love Paisa Dilli, among others.

But Oberoi does not seem to be affected by his low score at the box office. “For me the important thing in life is to stay happy. One must learn to be happy without depending on anything or anyone, nor should one put conditions on happiness. I think one must not connect things like if my film makes Rs. 100 crore or Rs. 200 crore then I will be happy,” the actor says. When asked if he regrets doing any films, he says, “No, I don’t regret. My films have flopped and I accept it, but I worked hard for all of them,”
