Cong slams Togadia for speech
The government and the Congress reacted strongly to the recent hate speech delivered by VHP leader Praveen Togadia against Muslims, with finance minister P Chidambaram saying the case be dealt in accordance with law.
Togadia had allegedly referred to the killings of Muslims in various riots in the past including Nelli (Assam), Bhagalpur (Bihar) and in Gujarat. According to him, this was made possible by police inaction.
Finance minister P Chidambaram said, “These are rabble rousers, creating disharmony in the society.”
