An angry Banerjee was then caught on camera, shouting twice at a policewoman on her security detail, "You people should be caught and whipped".Incidentally, when Banerjee took over as the CM, she had wanted to travel in an unmarked car as any other citizen. She had only relented when her haughtiness posed a big problem to the security forces guarding her.
"Since the officer works under her, there are legal problems for her to lodge a complaint against the CM. We have appealed the state human rights commission to initiate a case suo motu, against the CM," said Ranjit Sur of the Association for the Protection of Democratic Rights.Opposition was quick to react. Congress MP and railway minister Adhir Choudhury said, "She still remains an agitating leader and is yet to realise that she is the CM. Her behavior shows the state in bad light."
"She needs counseling," said state BJP president Rahul Sinha.
CPM leader Sujan Chakraborty said, "She is intolerant and autocratic. She treats officers like slaves."
