Randhawa said so far (by February 5), the department had conducted as many as 55 surveys to assess the taxable amount.
Randhawa on Wednesday had informed the media that department has collected Rs. 1,930 crore as income tax so far and was all set to achieve the target of Rs. 2,876 crore this financial year.
He said since about 40% of the tax collections are made in March, the department was sure to achieve the target.
He said the target of 22.7% growth in IT collection this financial year as compared to the national target of 15.25% growth determines the potential of the region in paying tax.
