Lately, Nawazuddin Siddique has emerged as one of the most talented actors in Bollywood. And now, after a recent trip to Cannes, he’s become hot property on the international circuit as well. The actor has just been signed for a three films with DAR Motion Pictures. All the three ventures — Monsoon Shootout, Haram Khor and Lunch Box — are international co-productions.

“After Cannes, international producers have started recognising me, and of course, my performance in Gangs Of Wasseypur (GOW, 2012) has been of help. Plus, Anurag (Kashyap) has a great standing in the international market. All these factors have come together and helped make things easy vis-à-vis getting these three interesting projects,” says Nawaz.

The producers too seem equally thrilled. “Nawazuddin is one of the most talented actors that we have today. He is now being increasingly liked by the audiences after GOW and Talaash (2012),” says Arun Rangachari from DAR Motion Pictures.

While Ritesh Batra’s Lunch Box will see Nawaz with Irrfan and Nimrat Kaur, Monsoon Shootout (directed by Amit Kumar) will have Tannishtha Chatterjee. Shlok Sharma, who also worked with Anurag on GOW series, on the other hand, will direct Haram Khor.

Ask Nawaz if he feels any pressure before signing a new project — since the expectations from him are sky-high nowadays — and he says: “Of course, I keep that in mind. After GOW 2, I was offered 175 films, but I chose only two or three from them because I don’t want to be seen doing ‘regular’ films. I am ready to go back to where I came from, but I won’t compromise on my choices,” says Nawaz, who was last seen in Aamir Khan-Kareena Kapoor starrer Talaash.
