Three separate incidents of theft, snatching and robbery were reported to the Chandigarh police in the past 24 hours. In the first incident, Ranjit, a resident of Mauli Complex, Manimajra, alleged that Mahusin, Manoj and Nonu attacked him before robbing him.
Ranjit was going towards his house when the trio followed him on foot and thrashed him. He alleged that they fled after robbing him of Rs. 2,000 near Old Indira Colony on February 7. An injured Ranjit was admitted to a local hospital. The police have registered a case of robbery.

In another incident, Chetan Singari, a resident of Sector 22-B, alleged that two unidentified motorcycle-borne people sped away after snatching his gold chain. Singari was near his house when the miscreants came from the opposite side and snatched his chain on February 7. The police have registered a case.

A motor-vehicle theft was also reported to police. Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Sector 51-A, reported that someone had stolen his Maruti car (HR-08E-3731) parked in front of his house. The car was lifted on February 6. A case under Section 379 of the IPC has been registered.
