A youth has been arrested on charges of abduction and rape of his minor distant relative on the pretext of marriage.
Division number 4 police arrested main accused Ajab Singh (21) of Mohalla Kehar Singh Nagar of Ludhiana on Friday and recovered the girl from his possession. His alleged accomplices Shiv Raj and Mukesh of New Partap Nagar are at large.

The case was registered following a complaint by the girl's father who resides in New Partap Nagar. He said that his 17-year-old daughter working as domestic help was abducted by Ajab Singh on February 3.

When the police recovered the girl, she allegedly revealed that Ajab Singh was raping her for the past few months by promising her marriage.

Inspector Vinod Kumar, SHO of division number 4 police station, said that a medical examination of the girl had confirmed rape.

Police are trying to arrest the co-accused in the case.
