Finance minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa on Monday inaugurated the 40th Shaheed Bachan Singh International Kabbadi Cup at Dirba, 15-km from here.
Speaking on the occasion, Dhindsa said the economic crisis at the national level had badly depleted the economic resources of the state.

Dhindsa said the sudden fall in prices of real estate had also adversely affected the fiscal position of the state.

“Money generated from registration of lands remained the biggest sources of revenue for the state,” Dhindsa said.

Though, he added that social service schemes in the state would not be stopped at any cost.
