A condom company is throwing a party in Delhi on Valentines’ night with the tag line, ‘the night is yours, the night is young, come celebrate the night of love.’ Actor Gul Panag is the celeb guest to the party. “Sex is an integral part of life. It’s naive to be in denial. Since it’s happening anyway — overtly or covertly, why not acknowledge it? And let’s not ignore the importance of practising safe sex, especially in a country where AIDS awareness is much needed. Lastly, who decided romance is about teddies, roses, chocolates and candles?”

Online stores are boasting of high sales of bold stuff. Amit Maheshwari, vice president fashion merchandising, Snapdeal.com, says, “With Valentine's Day round the corner, we have witnessed a 400% growth in women's innerwear and nightwear, especially baby doll dresses and provocative, intimate wear.” Amit Rawal, CEO, Elitify.com, says, “Being a niche website that caters especially to men, we’ve had many female shoppers this month as the love-struck ladies are looking to surprise their men ... one of the best selling products is the black satin boxer with the tag line, ‘I am the love machine’.”
