BJP and RSS bigwigs held a four-hour brainstorming session, second in the last fortnight, to "thrash out" issues that should be projected ahead of the 2014 polls.

Early reports suggest that top BJP leaders are not keen on pushing an aggressive, RSS-VHP brand Hindutva agenda ahead of the 2014 polls.

Instead, the BJP leaders are said to have argued for a more robust political plank that appealed to larger sections of the people, particularly the youth.

The RSS leaders meanwhile have told the party leaders that they would like to see the BJP reflecting the core concerns of Hindus at large.

After emerging from the discussions, BJP president Rajnath Singh said, "we discussed our strategy ahead in detail. Neither the issue of who should be prime minister candidate nor re-organisation of BJP affairs came up. We are working on a road-map (for 2014)."

Both RSS and BJP leaders are said to have also discussed the progress of NIA investigation into the alleged "saffron terror" cases.
