The Banga police had registered a case against Tirath Singh, Santokh Singh and Onkar Singh (all residents of Mehrampur village) under Sections 447 (punishment for criminal trespass), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention).
She added that she had met deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, who had assured her that strict action would be taken. Her husband Balkar Singh alleged that SSP Dhanpreet Kaur was rude when they met her on Tuesday.
She claimed that a land dispute was behind the attack and that she was also molested.
When HT contacted SSP Dhanpreet Kaur, she said that Britta Godiksen Hajen met her at her office late Tuesday night. She claimed that she had given her personal mobile number to Britta and asked her to report anything untoward to her.
“I assured her that Banga DSP Bhagwant Singh Gill will visit her on Thursday morning,” said Kaur.
She claimed that the Banga police had done the needful on the basis of Britta's statement.
