The magazine, which is a brainchild of deputy commissioner GK Singh, was released by rural development minister Surjit Singh Rakhra. Addressing the gathering after the release of the magazine, Rakhra said other districts would follow Patiala in publishing such magazines so that children could get a chance to hone their writing skills.
Congratulating the district administration for its endeavour, Rakhra said that it was the need of the hour that parents and teachers encourage children towards creative fields. He also said that writing was capable of changing the mindset of people, “Bal Preet” would go a long way in shaping up young minds.
Deputy commissioner GK Singh said that the first issue was dedicated to 'basant'. He said the main aim was to promote the mother tongue and encourage students in indulge in creative pursuits like writing.
