CBI has arrested the deputy chief controller of explosives, Guwahati, AK Kunj on charge of accepting bribe for issuing explosives licence,official sources said on Thursday.


Kunj was caught red-handed and arrested by CBI officials of Guwahati on Tuesday evening while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 35,000 from a person for giving explosive licence.

CBI's Accountability Bureau, Guwahati Branch registered a case numbered Rc 2(A)/2013-GWH under section seven of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

The CBI has already seized the amount and further searches were also conducted by the agency in his office and residential premises.
