An FIR in the case was registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code at PS Kotwali here in August 2011.
As per the complaint, Makhan Singh had hatched a plan and kidnapped the minor girl from the town and took her to his village on August 15. He kept the girl with him for two days during which she was subjected to sexual assault.
The victim's mother stated that her 14-year-old daughter years had gone to purchase some grocery items from a nearby shop on August 15, but did not return. She said the girl returned home on August 17 and disclosed that she was kidnapped by Makhan Singh who had enticed her and took her on a scooter to his village where he raped her for two days.
She also said that co-accused Baljinder Kaur and Surinder Kaur had played an active role in her daughter's kidnapping.
After hearing the arguments, the court on Friday held the accused guilty and slapped a fine of Rs. 1,000 each on the two women and Rs. 10,000 on Makhan Singh.
