The Special Task Force arrested two criminals who had robbed several traders in the state and were planning another loot in Indira Nagar, on Friday. One of the prime accused Osama was arrested from sector 14 of Indira Nagar on Thursday evening. He carried a reward of R10,000. His accomplice Wasi was arrested in Gorakhpur on Friday afternoon, on the basis of information given by Osama.

Cops recovered two pistols, 14 live cartridges, two cell phones and fake driving licences from their possession. The licence of Osama was in the name of one Manoj Tiwari while that of Wasi in the name of Pawan Singh, though pictures used on them were of these two.

During interrogation Osama told the cops that he had recently done recce of a rich builder in Bengaluru after getting contract to kill him, but the plan could not materialise as the builder left the country for a few days. Osama is named in six cases of loot and attempt to murder in different police stations of Gorakhpur.

In the past, Osama had a gang with three other members - Mehtab, Sultan Ahmad, Jeeshan Ahmad - but all three are presently in jail. Cops are further questioning the arrested to know if they had more such plans. Case against Osama has been lodged at Gazipur police station while against Wasi at Kotwali in Gorakhpur district.
