The green card holders were enrolled in 2005 in alleged violations of rules and regulations. The club had challenged the lower court's order given in favour of Brig Sukhdev Singh (retd), a resident of Sector 33, who had moved the court in 2006 against the action of golf club. He alleged that members who were ineligible were granted the green card membership in violation of norms.
In its argument, the golf club had said there were no strict rules in the byelaws, which stated that the consent of the three-fourth majority of members should be taken to grant one-time exemption. The court, in 2009, had passed an order that all memberships had been termed null and void. The club had challenged the decision.
