“I want to ask Akali leaders as to why they have always kept quiet about the incidents of terror," he said, adding, “Leave aside condemning the terror acts like the killing of innocent people, they have never even opposed these acts."
Bittu, the grandson of former chief minister late Beant Singh who was assassinated by terrorists, urged the people not to forget the sacrifices of thousands of people who laid down their lives for peace and harmony in the state.
Cautioning the people of Moga against wasting their vote for those who had no sympathy for the victims of terrorism, he appealed them to ensure that the Congress candidate got elected to send a clear message against terror and against those who did not oppose it.
Bittu was accompanied by senior party leaders Milkiat Singh Dakha, KK Bawa, Manjit Singh Hambran and senior youth Congress leaders. They also took an oath against terrorism and resolved that they would not allow the sacrifices of leaders like Beant Singh and Indira Gandhi go waste.
