Rebel Congress leader Aslam Sher Khan organised a convention of Muslim party workers at Iqbal Maidan, parallel to party’s Vidisha convention on Sunday. Addressing a small gathering present at the convention, Aslam Sher Khan, however, said he had taken permission for the convention from Delhi and its date was also decided ahead of Vidisha convention’s date.

A day ahead of convention, Khan had demanded in a press conference that Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia be projected as the chief minister in the next election.

At the convention site, a sixpage pamphlet was circulated by Aslam’s detractors asking him “as to when he would stop blackmailing the Congress party in the name of being from among the Muslims (minority).”

The pamhlet also dwells in detail about his dismal performance in the electoral politics as and when he was given ticket either for the assembly election or the Lok Sabha.
