A 13-year-old Dalit girl of Mattian village under the Rajasansi police station was allegedly raped by a person at his house in Inderjeet Bholi on Saturday night. The accused has been arrested.
Batala SSP Tulsi Ram said that on Sunday evening, a woman of Mattain village lodged a complaint at the civil lines police station that her daughter was working as a domestic help in the house of Manohar Lal of Roshan Vihar colony for the last eight months.

She said on Saturday night, when her daughter was coming from market after buying some grocery, a resident of Inderjeet Bholi, Bhupinder Singh, allegedly waylaid her and took her to his house, where he repeatedly raped her and later dropped her at Ramtalai temple.

On Sunday morning, the victim narrated the incident to her employer, who, along with her parents, reported the matter to the police. After conducting the medical examination of the victim, the police registered a case under sections 363, 366A and 376 IPC against Bhupinder Singh and his wife Raj Kaur. Bhupinder has been arrested, while his wife was absconding.
