A youth was allegedly was killed and his family members were injured after relatives of a girl with whom he was reportedly having an affair beat them up at Rajpura village in Abohar, a sub-division of Fazilka, on Thursday night.
The victim, Bablu, a native of Uttar Pardesh, was working as a help with a villager, Davinder Singh, for the past several months. A labourer family from Jalandhar came to the village to work in cotton fields. Bablu developed relations with Bhola, a girl from the labourer family.

When her parents and relatives came to know about their relationship, they reached the residence of Bablu's bother-in-law Ajay Yadav on Thursday night and allegedly abducted him besides his wife Indu and their two kids. They beat them up in a vehicle before dropping them.

Later, they reached Rajpura village and beat up Bablu and abandoned him at Chak Shere Wala village in Muktsar district. He was found dead on Friday evening.

Fazilka SSP Amar Singh Chahal said a case under Sections 302 and 364 of the IPC has been registered against the accused. The body of the victim was handed over to the family after post mortem.
