Dr Srinivas Rao was at a pharmacy near Konark theatre when one of the two bombs exploded around 7pm on Thursday and had to be stretchered to a private hospital nearby.

Rao, who was in trauma and did not want to talk, had splinter injuries on his head. The nature of his injuries and those of other blast victims admitted at another hospital are similar. A forensic expert said, "The nature of injuries sustained by the victims in the twin blasts are very similar to the ones victims suffered in the 2007 terror blasts in Hyderabad."

Iron particles, small nuts, bolts, nails and pieces of glass were found inside the bodies of the victims, said the expert. A doctor said, "Most of the victims suffered injuries above the waist."

In 2007, 45 people were killed in two blasts at Lumbini Park and Gokul chat shop.
