The obvious image that comes to mind when you think of a woman at the races is of an over-the-top, quirky hat or fascinator perched atop perfectly groomed hair.

What’s interesting, though, is that very few women have dared to experiment with the accessory, which has come to be regarded as a status symbol adopted by the jet set that constitutes only a handful of ladies.

That needn’t be the case at the Poonawalla derby, which is taking place today. Head over to the private high tea enclosure, where a member of the illustrious racing family herself —Delna Poonawalla — is showcasing a range of hats and fascinators.

Apart from her own Spring Summer designs, Delna is also displaying and selling some iconic millinery from her own collection. We got her to pick out some of her favourite designs, all priced between Rs. 2,500 to Rs. 8,500.

Fit right into the derby atmosphere with dramatic headgear designed by the first family of Indian horse racing.
