“On not finding the woman (victim’s sister), Manoj targeted her younger minor sister, hardly aged 12 years. This incident being a rape for the purpose of revenge only to teach a lesson to two other women cannot be overlooked and hence Manoj deserves no leniency,” the court said.
The judge noted that Manoj was in a live-in relationship with a woman, who was the friend of the minor victim’s sister. Due to some disputes, the couple used to frequently approach the police.
The victim’s sister would usually take her friend’s side in the police presence, which infuriated Manoj and he decided to teach her a lesson.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs. 60,000 on Manoj and Rs. 20,000 on Amit.
