Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee member Raman Bahl, while presiding over a meeting of the party workers on Monday, distributed cheques for Rs15.27 lakh for various developmental works in Gurdaspur assembly segment. The cheques were issued by Gurdaspur MP Partap Singh Bajwa from his MPLAD scheme funds.

The grant included Rs. 3.6 lakh for the construction of verandah of the community centre at Bathwala village, Rs. 2.75 lakh and Rs1.5 lakh for laying streets and drains at Jhawar and Bhangwan villages, respectively, Rs. 2 lakh each for the streets and drains of ward number 4 and 8 in Gurdaspur municipal council, Rs. 93 lakh for developmental works in ward number 10, besides Rs. 2.49 lakh for installing streetlights in the ward number 21.

Bahl also promised to get more developmental funds from the MPLAD scheme funds of Bajwa.
