The prosecution initially decided to call his daughter as witness, but dropped the idea during the trial. Later, Shaikh’s advocate Wahab Khan called the girl as a defence witnesses and examined her. “The daughter told the court that her mother’s alleged lover killed her. Her statement was also supported by the other prosecution evidences,” Khan said.
Meanwhile, a sessions court acquitted two brothers in a case related to dowry death. The prosecution had alleged that accused Zuber, husband of deceased Navina, and his brother Firoz caused her (Navina’s) death.
However, the court acquitted them due to lack of evidence.
