The producers have also contacted Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad, Argo), Aaron Taylor-Johnson, the hero of Kick-Ass, and Elizabeth Olsen, who will soon star in Spike Lee's remake of Oldboy.
British director Gareth Edwards (Monsters) will be at the helm of the Godzilla reboot and the screenplay will be by Frank Darabont (The Green Mile). The movie will offer another take on the mythical cinematic creature created in Japan in 1954.
The adaptation is set for release on May 16, 2014, 16 years after the last Hollywood movie about Godzilla by Roland Emmerich.
