Thackeray said he has cancelled the annual Koli Mahotsava held by his party at Mahim. “I have asked them to hold it in November, as we cannot hold such programmes when several regions in the state are battling drought,” he said.
Raj Thackeray also objected to Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut’s Sunday article in Saamna, which condemned him for criticising Pawar. “I have not ridiculed Pawar. What I asked were basic questions. Years ago, Raut too had criticised Pawar in his write-ups,” said Thackeray.
The NCP, meanwhile, has said they have no plans of cancelling the matches.
“We have been getting at least Rs15 crore as tax from the IPL. A demand to cancel it is foolish,” said NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik.
