Prasanta Karmakar claimed two gold in the para cycling events at the Hero Asian Para-Cycling Championships at the Buddh International Circuit on Tuesday. Competing in the MC 5 class of the individual time trial event (10km), Karmakar, a former para-swimmer, clocked 16:55.860s to outclass compatriot Sachin Verma (17:15.590s).

Later in the day, the duo dominated the 40km individual road race with Karmakar taking gold and Verma settling for silver.
Overall, India bagged seven medals, including two bronze.

Meanwhile, the home ministry gave its nod to the 36-member Iranian team. But the government is yet to clear the visa applications of the riders from Pakist-an, Afghanistan and Iraq.
