Aamir Khan's vintage radio for P.K. comes from Chor Bazaar
Don’t be surprised if you see Aamir Khan carrying a vintage radio set throughout Raj Kumar Hirani’s upcoming film, P.K.. Apparently, the radio set is more than just a prop in the movie. “It plays a very important part in the narrative that is being kept under wraps by the makers for now,” says an insider.
Some pictures from the sets, one of which has captured Aamir dressed in a bizarre jacket and a ghagra combo, were leaked on the Internet a few days ago. The radio can be spotted in the picture too.
Adds the insider, “If you look closely, it isn’t a regular vintage piece. It’s really, really old and belongs to the ’60s or the ’70s. Somehow, Aamir remembered this one from his childhood and insisted that the team find the exact thing.”
And that’s when the production team’s hunt began. “After months of research and scouting around, the production unit finally found the specific one in Mumbai’s Chor Bazaar. It was the closest to what Aamir had described to them. But he was happy with what the team finally bought,” adds the insider.
Besides Aamir, Hirani’s film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Anushka Sharma and Sushant Singh Rajput. Despite repeated attempts, Hirani and Aamir remained unavailable for
comments, as they are currently shooting for the film in Rajasthan.
