Seeking Rs. 5 crore for each MLA for the development of his respective constituency, he alleged that the state government was fooling people by siding with real estate giants. He also demanded the immediate repair of roads in several areas and sought a check on wasteful expenditure, claiming that law officers from a particular part of the state were drawing salaries for not working at all.
Another INLD MLA, Krishan Panwar, raised the issue of acute shortage of electricity supply in the state. He blamed the purchase of sub-standard equipment for power plants for the power crisis in the state.
Panwar said that the people of Haryana suffered without any fault of theirs. “It is because of the poor equipment, worse management and other irregularities that the government incurred losses and frequently hiked power tariffs,” he said. He also cornered the government on the alleged irregularities in promotion of a superintending engineer in irrigation department and falling standards of education in the state.
Other INLD MLAs who also flayed the budget and government on different issues were: Parminder Singh Dhull, Bishan Lal Saini, Jagdish Nayyar, Narender Sangwan, Ganga Ram and Saroj Mor.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member of legislative assembly (MLA) Kavita Jain also lambasted the budget and state government. She said the budget would not bring relief to any section of society. She also sought action against officials because of whom pensions were being given to people who were not beneficiaries.
