“When this was not done, more miscreants joined him and the BRPL team was manhandled and stones pelted. BRPL’s senior manager Suraj Azad and a Delhi Police constable sustained injuries,” the spokesperson said.
The villagers, on the other hand, said the BSES officials disconnected the power supply of the village for several hours in retaliation.
“Power went off and could not be restored immediately as the officials had to leave the spot to save their lives. We restored the power supply on Friday on the after we asked the area MLA and councillor to intervene, so that we can carry on with our jobs,” said a BRPL officer.
The BRPL team had been accompanied by 15 police personnel, including five women constables and an additional SHO from the area.
The team was on a ‘sprucing up’ and anti-theft exercise in the area.
