A 12-year-old student was allegedly drugged to death by a juvenile at east Delhi’s Karawal Nagar on Saturday, police said.
The incident was reported soon after Saurav, a Class 5 student at a government school, was discovered in a semi-conscious on a roadside. He was apparently lured away from home and injected with a lethal dose of a sedative.

“Onlookers and residents informed his parents about their son’s condition. When they made enquiries, they were told that Saurav had last been seen with a 17-year-old drug addict from the area,” said an officer.

The police were informed even as Saurav was rushed to the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital.

In the hospital, Saurav told police, before coming to consciousness for the last time, that he had been lured to an abandoned factory near their house where he had been injected with an injection by the assailant.

“The juvenile was nabbed and sent to an observation home where he is currently lodged. He will be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) on Monday,” a police officer said.

Saurav’s body was handed over to his parents after the post-mortem.
