A team of SIT officials will take Bitti to Alwar, where he had raped a 26-year-old German tourist in March 2006. He had jumped parole in November the same year while serving a seven-year sentence in Jaipur.
Two other teams of the 21-member SIT will travel to Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. The Kerala police have secured Bitti's custody for 10 days from court.
"We will go to all the places associated with Bitti and find out how he managed to construct a new life with forged documents including birth certificate," a senior Kerala police officer who did not want to be named said.
The Kerala police are likely to hand over Bitti to their Rajasthan counterparts after investigating the impersonation and forgery charges filed against him in Kannur, where he was arrested on March 8.
At the time of his arrest Bitti was working as a probationary officer in a public sector bank in Kannur under the name of Raghav Raj. An anonymous tip-off to Bitti's bank blew his cover.
