Actor Sonam Kapoor, who is shooting in Delhi for YRF’s next untitled project feels it’s time people changed their mindset about intimate scenes and item numbers in Bollywood films. “You cannot make a big deal out of kissing and intimacy. There is nothing abnormal about it. It’s high time that we changed our mentality,” she says.

In fact, this now-gen actor has a problem with people using the term ‘item number’. “We have tagged dance numbers as item songs. But, Helen and Aruna Irani have also done these kind of songs in the past. It’s been happening in Bollywood from the very beginning. There’s nothing wrong about these songs, it’s just dancing,” she reasons.

In fact, Sonam, who had in the past shown resistance towards donning a bikini, says she can’t understand what the whole fuss about wearing a bikini is, in a country that came up with Kamasutra.

“There’s no big deal about wearing a bikini. I am not trying to make any sexual statement by wearing it. Eventually, it’s going to be a part of the movie. It’s just like wearing jeans. You just need to be comfortable. We are Indians, you know, we came up with Kamasutra. We can’t be so self conscious,” she tells us.

The 27-year-old will be rocking the bikini-clad look in the YRF film which she is shooting with actor Ayushmann Khurrana. The actor, who looks quite in shape these days, shares her fitness regime. “I work out with my trainer. I do a combination of pilates and weight-training. I’m trying to get my body really fit. A year-and-a-half ago, I was hospitalised twice. I had lot of health issues. So now I’m losing weight and getting healthier and fitter,” she says.
