Ludhiana District Congress Committee (DCC) president Pawan Dewan handed over a cheque of Rs. 10 lakh to Guru Teg Bahadur Charitable Hospital to build a new operation theatre from the Member Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) fund of information and broadcasting minister Manish Tewari on Monday.

While handing over the cheque to hospital president Mohinder Singh Bakshi, Dewan assured the hospital management that more funds would follow from the Central government for the better and cheap treatment of patients.

Speaking on the occasion, Congress leader Sushil Kumar Malhotra said Manish Tewari had written a letter to the union health minister to setup a trauma center at the civil hospital, the proposal for which would be approved soon.
