The local police arrested a Kajheri village resident for allegedly throwing acid on a person of the same village here on Monday. The accused has been identified as Kala, who along with three others threw acid on Dilbag Singh. Police said the victim and the accused were known to each other and belonged to the same village.

Police said all four were having liquor together, when they entered into a heated argument and physical alteration ensued. Kala threw acid on the victim and fled from the spot.

The victim sustained injures on the chest and the stomach. The police was informed and the victim was rushed to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), where he is currently under treatment.

The police managed to arrest Kala, while the other accused are still at large. A case of voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means and acts done by several persons under Sections 326-A, 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered at Sector 36 police station. Police said all four have criminal background.
