“The existing pipeline is of 900 mm only. We required additional line to augment water storage capacity at the intermediate boosting station,” said Huda administrator Praveen Kumar on Monday.
At present, Huda has the storing capacity of 20 MGD water. With the enhanced capacity, the authority will be in a position to supply 25 to 26 MGD water.
DLF City, Sushant Lok, Essel Tower, Ardee City, South City and other areas of new Gurgaon will benefit from it. These localities had faced an acute water crisis last summer.
Besides, two motors of higher capacity will also be installed at the boosting station to make sure water reaches every corner of the city. Several areas in DLF and other localities that are situated comparatively at higher altitude have to face water crisis due to low pressure.
“We did not have enough water and powerful motors at the intermediate boosting station that caused crisis in summer,” said the administrator, adding that the authority has taken all the steps to ensure a better supply this summer.
