When station superintendent Ravinder Sharma, was asked, he said, “Lack of funds and insufficient labour is the reason for delay in work. The city is increasingly being referred to an upcoming metropolitan, but conditions at the local railway station are not up to the mark with basic necessities remaining pending.”
Sharma added, “The administration understands the need of proper infrastructure and completion of sheds at the platforms for an easier commute. But railway is going through a tough time and lack of funds to finish the construction.”
A passenger at the railway station, who had to leave for New-Delhi, Harvir Singh, said, "Authorities talk of making Ludhiana a metropolitan ignoring basic needs and amenities at the railway station."
