Vice-chancellor AS Brar was the chief guest of the concluding day. TS Banipal, director, ASC, welcomed the chief guest and others. Avinash Nagpal, course coordinator, highlighted the activities undertaken by the participants during these days.
AK Thukral proposed the vote of thanks, while Renu Bhardwaj, Saroj Arora and other faculty members from the host department were also present. Brar, in his valedictory address, threw light on various environmental hazards being faced by the country. Comparing the environmental scenario of the country with that of the developed countries of the world, he lamented that India was lagging behind as far as the preservation of environment is concerned.
The V-C enumerated various reasons for such a dismal picture. He said lack of awareness amongst the masses comes first. The role of industry is also not positive in this regard, he added.
He said teachers as role models can play a significant role in changing the mindset of society in all aspects. Brar also highlighted the contribution of the role of teachers in moulding the shape of society for a better future. He also distributed certificates to successful participants on the completion of the course.
