It was in September last year when Mamata Banerjee withdrew from UPA II and called for the resignation of the government. It even tried to bring in a no-confidence motion against the government in November.
However, recently after DMK’s withdrawal, Congress leaders called up Mamata who expressed her support to the government over the Sri Lankan Tamils issue. Mamata posted her views on Facebook, which highlighted that the party would stand by the Union government on such external affairs issue. Trinamool also reiterated its demand for a bailout package for a cash-strapped state.
