Although not many would know what the tournament is all about - it's an inter-college tournament between the best teams from India, Pakistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England and Sri Lanka, promoted by the energy drink brand - that's unlikely to adulterate DAV, Chandigarh's joy on making the final. For them it's as big as it gets for they have made it thus far by beating the best from across the world.
"It's a huge achievement and we are thrilled. We hope to give our best in the final tomorrow and fly back home with the trophy," said Gurinder Singh, the vice captain of the team.
The way to the final hasn't been easy though, especially the semifinal against hosts Sri Lanka on Friday. While the Team from India had the match practically in their pocket after posting a massive 210 and reducing Lanka to 53 for 5, a late surge from the hosts saw them falling short by mere 16 runs.
For DAV, Gurinder Singh was the star of the game with a 25-ball 60, studded with five sixes and as many boundaries, and two wickets.
DAV will play the final with the winner of the Pakistan-England semifinal, on Saturday.
